Enrichment & Mind Stimulation

All animals have needs that need to be met. We bring animals into our homes and domesticate them. It's our responsibility to make sure they are being fulfilled.

With enrichment it is never ending. As your puppy grows into an adolescent his needs will change. The needs of a 3-year-old will be different when they become senior dogs.

Puppies will chew and they do need safe items to chew on. As they mature, they will need something to chew on. Get to know your puppy well.

Dogs and humans see objects differently.

  • Stick to the dog chewable
  • Couch leg to the dog chewable
  • Paper to the dog edible snack
  • Dog treats an edible snack
  • Table leg chewable

The list goes on because dogs really do see objects differently.

Providing mind stimulation and enrichment can help to prevent your home from being destroyed.

Using a snuffle mat is good for enrichment and mind stimulation.

You will have to teach your puppy how to get started by putting small treats inside the mat and allow them to search using their noses.

Most pet stores have them available.

Learning Begins

Dogs start learning very early in life. The littler stays with the mother and they play together and learn a lot from each other.

They should be slowly exposed to new people, objects and environments.

Our lives have changed over the past thousands of years. Many years ago, dogs were bred for a purpose and had jobs.

When choosing a puppy understand their breed.

The pup in this picture is Labrador Retriever.
